Former Indian cricketer, Harbhajan Singh, has shared his views on Pakistan’s chances of making it to the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC 2023 Cricket World Cup.

In a recent interview with Star Sports, Harbhajan was asked about Pakistan’s theoretical chances of making it to the knock out stage of the aforementioned tournament.

He didn’t mince his words, stating that he believes they have virtually no shot at advancing.

“I don’t think they have any chance. It will be like cheating yourself that they have a chance. Pakistan will have to win the match by 285-odd runs. They might not score those many runs in total,” Harbhajan said.

The 43-year-old further emphasized the formidable challenge that Pakistan is facing, emphasizing the significant effort needed to secure a substantial victory margin in the match.

“If they have to win the match by 285-odd runs, they will have to score 400 or 450. If they score 400-450 runs in a match, the other team won’t come to eat chole. They will also come and bat a little. So understand what sort of pitch it would be,” he concluded.

It is worth noting that the Men in Green are currently at the fifth spot of the mega-event points table with four wins and four defeats and in order to reach the semi-final round, they will have to beat England by around 287 runs while batting first or by about 284 balls to spare while chasing the target.
